Bajo el título, Un
paso más allá del ojo que respira, Ilka dará un taller intensivo de
performance basado en la idea del ojo que
respira (2), preguntándose por nuestra interacción como artistas con el
espacio y el tiempo en situaciones complejas. Maestros de yoga enseñan una
técnica de relajación y meditación que hace referencia a la idea de
"respirar a través de los ojos". En este taller, no nos vamos a sumergir
en ciencia de chakras, prana, ni centros de energía, pero sí usaremos el
potencial de este concepto para explorar la reacción que nos causa nuestra
propia obra.
Para ilustrar esto, he
aquí una hipotética pregunta: ¿Cómo reaccionaría nuestro cuerpo cuando salimos
temporalmente de una tensa, confusa y compleja situación, al visualizar respirar
a través de los ojos? Sin duda, desaceleraríamos nuestra actividad física, huyendo
de distracciones externas y emociones agitadas. Nuestros músculos faciales se
relajarían, nuestros latidos se apaciguarían, y, en general, agruparíamos fragmentos
mentales, físicos y emocionales. Nuestro pensamiento formal sería capaz de
volver a la situación abiertamente y con nuevas soluciones al problema.

¿Quién es Ia profesora? Ilka Theurich
(1971, Alemania) es una artista performer, investigadora, comisaria y
consultora.
Theurich ha expuesto y
realizado performances en variedad de países y contextos. Trabaja como investigadora,
comisaria, consultora y profesora en una gran variedad de proyectos, incluyendo
eventos de larga escala, performances íntimas, publicaciones y talleres.
Su trabajo gira en torno
a cuestionar el contexto performativo del espacio, la democracia horizontal, la
práctica crítica espacial y las políticas espaciales. Está interesada en el
despliegue de su práctica -performática-sociopoética como metodología en el
campo de la práctica crítica espacial.
Actualmente, trabaja
como consultora, conceptualizando e implementando la investigación performática
en proyectos de urbanismo y arquitectura a todos los niveles, tanto en
proyectos que incluyen estrategias de infraestructura, como en los de
investigación, aproximaciones curatoriales, y actividades discursivas, con la
finalidad de crear soluciones a medida para cada proyecto.

Ilka will present her performance workshop based on
the idea of the breathing eye(2)
and questions our interaction as artists with space and time in complex
situations. Yoga masters teach a relaxation and meditation technique, which
refers to the idea of „breathing through the eyes". In this workshop, we
do not immerse ourselves in the science of chakras, prana, and energy centers,
but use the potential of this concept to explore our behavior within our art.
To
illustrate this, here a hypothetical question: How would our body react when we
emerge temporarily from a tense, confusing and complex situation, to visualize
breathing through the eyes? Undoubtedly, we would physically slow down and keep
away from seemingly overwhelming emotions and external distractions. Our facial
muscles would relax, our heart rate would slow down, and in general, we
would "regroup" mental, physical, and emotional situational
fragments. Our shaping thought would
be able, to return to the situation openly and with new approaches to the
solution.

the lecturer: Ilka Theurich (1971, Germany) is a performance artist, researcher, curator and consultant.
Theurich has exhibited and performed in a variety of countries and contexts. She works as a researcher, curator, consultant and teacher of a broad range of projects, including large-scale events, intimate performances, publications and workshops.

revolves around questions of the performative context of space, horizontal democracy, critical
spatial practice and spatial politics. She is interested in the deployment of

collaboratively works and consults on conceptualising and implementing
performance art based research on urban planning and architecture on all scales
as well as projects that include strategic frameworks, research, curatorial
approaches, and discursive activities in order to create customised approaches
for each project.
